Announcements by the Speaker
The following 3 announcements were made-
(i) ‘A’ : Determination of the Supreme Court on the Bill entitled “National Authority on Tobacco and Alcohol (Amendment)”.
(ii) ‘B’ : Endorsement under Article 79 of the Constitution.
(iii) ‘C’ : Meeting of the Committee on Parliamentary Business.
Presentation of Reports from the Committees
The Hon. (Dr.) Sarath Amunugama, the Chairman of the Committee on Public Accounts (COPA) presented its Second Report for the First Session of the Seventh Parliament.
Presentation of Petitions
Public Petitions were presented by the following Hon. MPP:-
(i) The Hon. Karuppaiah Velayudam - Fifteen Petitions
(ii) The Hon. C. B. Rathnayake
(iii) The Hon. Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena

Questions under Standing Order 23(2)
The Hon. Nimal Siripala de Silva, the Leader of the Opposition made a statement under Standing Order 23(2), regarding the ‘Port City Project’.
Presentation of Bills
The Hon. Minister of Health and Indigenous Medicine moved the Bill entitled
"National Authority on Tobacco and Alcohol (Amendment)"
to amend the National Authority on Tobacco and Alcohol Act, No.27 of 2006, as an urgent Bill.
Adjournment Motion
Adjournment Motion on “Post Election Violence” was moved by the Hon. Nimal Siripala de Silva.
The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1805 Hrs. until 1300 Hrs. on Wednesday 18th February 2015.
