“Responsible Parliaments - Embracing Evaluation for Agenda 2030” Parliamentarians Evaluation Forum (EvalColombo 2018) will take place from 17th to 19th September 2018 at Hilton Colombo Hotel and Parliament of Sri Lanka. This is organized by the Global Parliamentarians Forum for Evaluation (GPFE), together with Sri Lanka Parliamentarians Forum for Evaluation and Sri Lanka Evaluation Association.
The three primary objectives of the forum are to;
- Build capacity amongst parliamentarians so that they can better demand and use evaluation evidence in parliament,
- Promote dialogue between parliamentarians, government, evaluation practitioners, and civil society to pave the way for more conducive environments for development evaluation,
- Build support at a global level amongst parliamentarians and other key stakeholders for national evaluation policies and systems to improve decision-making on development
EvalColombo 2018 is the first ever parliamentarians global event to promote evaluation culture and delighted to host it in Sri Lanka. The forum will be an excellent opportunity for parliamentarians, the evaluation community and development partners to initiate a dialogue on the greater use of evaluation and evidence-based decision making within the legislature.
