(iii) The Report of the Committee on Public Finance was presented by the Hon. (Prof.) Ashu Marasinghe, member of the Committee on behalf of the Chairman of the Committee, the Hon. M. A. Sumanthiran.

Presentation of Bills

The Hon. Chief Government Whip moved the Bill entitled

“Motor Traffic (Amendment)”

to amend the Motor Traffic Act (Chapter 203).

Main Business of the House for Today

The following Items (appearing as Item Nos. 1 to 4 of today’s Order Paper) were passed by the House:-

(i) Three Orders under the Excise (Special Provisions) Act
(ii) Regulation under the Stamp duty (Special Provisions) Act

The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1816 Hrs. until 0930 Hrs. on Thursday 7th September 2017.
