Sitting Days and
Hours
Sitting Days of Parliament
In terms of Standing Order No. 7, the Parliament shall
meet in two alternate weeks in each month commencing after
the first Sunday and shall sit on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays
and Fridays of the first and the third of such weeks.
However, Parliament shall meet for twenty-six days to consider
the Appropriation Bill under Standing Order No. 70. These
days may be reduced with the consent of the House on a motion
moved.
Sitting Hours of Parliament
At present, the hours of sitting of Parliament are 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and 1.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. Since 2004, Sitting of Parliament takes place as follows by an agreement of the House:
